In the long run, laser hair removal saves time and money — and pain if you’ve been waxing. It can also eliminate the pain and embarrassment of unsightly razor bumps. There’s just one problem: conventional laser hair removal only works on certain skin types and hair colors, so it is not suitable for the majority of our patients who have medium-toned complexions.
At Belfiore Wellness Center, everyone is a good candidate for laser hair removal. We use a more advanced type of laser technology that provides comfortable, fast, and effective results for all skin types and hair colors. It’s called Triton.
What Does Treatment Involve?
Triton is actually two systems in one. Duo Light enables us to treat a broad spectrum of hairs on lighter skin. Duo Dark enables hair removal on medium to dark skin. Together, these two features allow us to personalize the treatment to each patient’s specific skin type, tone, and hair type to produce ideal results, safely.
Treatment sessions are short. Even large areas such as the back or legs can be treated in about 20 minutes, small areas in 5 minutes. The length of the session varies depending on where the hair is being removed from, the type of hair in question, and other factors.
Triton’s built-in cooling technology ensures treatments are safe and very tolerable. There is no downtime required afterward, although patients will feel a slight sunburn-like sensation for several days.

What Is Triton?
Triton is a unique, FDA-cleared laser system that integrates three different wavelengths commonly used for hair removal into a single platform – Alexandrite 755nm, Diode 810nm, and Nd:YAG 1065nm. Your provider can vary the wavelength(s) used, output power, and pulse duration to create an individually customized hair removal experience for each patient.
While older laser technologies are not suitable for those with darker skin due to the risk of skin damage (post-inflammatory pigmentation) as well as ineffective results, the Triton system eliminates this concern because it can safely use high power and multiple wavelengths simultaneously.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
Virtually anyone looking to get rid of unwanted hair is a good candidate. Triton is safe and effective for:
- Both dark and light hair (all except white or gray)
- Fine or coarse hair
- Stubborn hair
- Light, medium, or dark complexion (or tanned skin)
- Any skin thickness
- Any body area
What Areas of the Body Can Triton Treat?
Triton laser hair removal is safe to use on any part of the body, literally head to toe — face, nose, ears, neck, areolas, abdomen, back, legs, feet, etc. Our laser hair removal price list includes all the areas that can be treated.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Laser hair removal requires multiple treatment sessions because hair grows in cycles and only hair follicles that are in the active growing phase (anagen phase) can be permanently destroyed. The number of treatment sessions needed varies, depending on the area being treated, the patient’s skin type, hair type and other factors.
Traditional laser hair removal treatments often require 6 to 10 sessions. The Triton system is unique because the multiple wavelengths can treat deep hairs and newly emerging follicles simultaneously. Studies show that Triton can produce 70-80% clearance in just 3 treatments. However, at Belfiore Wellness Center, we recommend 4 to 6 Duo Dark or Duo Light treatments for most patients, in order to achieve ideal results.
